Why DMs Sometimes Don’t Send in ReplyRush

Why DMs Sometimes Don’t Send in ReplyRush: Common Scenarios Explained

At ReplyRush, our goal is to deliver a smooth and reliable DM automation experience for your Instagram posts, reels, and stories. However, there are certain scenarios where a DM may not be sent or delivered as expected. Here are the most common reasons:

1. Instagram Inbox Disabled

If a user has disabled their Instagram Inbox, they will not be able to receive direct messages from anyone — including automated DMs from ReplyRush. In such cases, our system will automatically skip sending to that user.

2. DMs from Non-Followers Restricted

Some Instagram users set their account preferences to only receive DMs from people they follow.

  • If you are not following them, the DM may:

    • Go into their “Message Requests” folder without a notification, or

    • Be completely blocked from delivery.

3. Instagram Display Bug

Instagram sometimes has display glitches where sent DMs don’t appear immediately in the user’s inbox. Even if ReplyRush sends the message successfully, the recipient might not see it right away.

In many cases, the DM is actually delivered — it’s just not immediately visible due to Instagram’s interface.

4. Instagram API Glitch

In rare cases, an Instagram API issue may cause a DM to fail. This happens in less than 0.5% of cases (about 1 in every 500 messages) and is entirely on Instagram’s side. When this occurs, ReplyRush cannot force delivery since it’s tied to Instagram’s infrastructure.

Understanding the “See Response” Label

You may notice that not every comment you reply to with an auto DM will show the “See response” label on Instagram.

  • This is normal and does not mean the DM wasn’t sent.

  • To confirm, you can check the user’s inbox directly.

  • Sometimes the label won’t appear due to Instagram behavior, but the message is still delivered.

✅ At ReplyRush, we continuously monitor for delivery issues and optimize our system to work within Instagram’s limits and policies.
If you ever experience unexpected DM failures or have questions, our support team is ready to assist you.
