Auto DM is Not Working

If your Auto DM feature in ReplyRush isn’t sending messages as expected, follow the steps below to diagnose and fix the issue.

1. Check for Permission Issues

  1. Open the SidebarConnected Accounts.

  2. Find your Instagram account in the list.

  3. If you see a Permission Missing notice, click Reauthorize to refresh permissions and regenerate your Instagram token.

  4. Make sure you grant all requested permissions when Meta/Facebook prompts you.

✅ Without the correct permissions, ReplyRush cannot send Auto DMs.

2. Verify Trigger Settings

  • Go to Linked Post/Reel/Story → Options.

  • Confirm the correct Trigger Type is selected:

    • All Comments – DM sent to everyone who comments.

    • Keyword Trigger – DM sent only when specific keywords are used.

    • AI Trigger – Automatically detects keywords from your post description.

  • If your trigger keyword doesn’t match user comments, Auto DM will not send.

💡 Tip: If you missed comments due to a wrong trigger keyword, update the keyword and use Sendback to resend DMs to those users.

3. Reconnect Your Instagram Account

If permissions are fine but Auto DM still doesn’t work:

  1. Go to Sidebar → Connected Accounts.

  2. Click Detach next to your Instagram account.

  3. Reconnect via:

    • Instagram Login – direct connection to Instagram.

    • Facebook Login – recommended for more reliable permissions.

  4. Once reconnected, check that your automation settings are still applied.

4. Check Safety Queue (High Volume Posts)

  • If your post has gone viral with thousands of comments, DMs may send gradually due to Meta’s 600 DMs/hour limit.

  • ReplyRush’s Safety Queue automatically stores comments and sends DMs in batches until all are delivered.

  • This is normal and prevents account restrictions.

5. Still Not Working?

If you’ve tried all the steps above and Auto DM is still not sending:

  • Take a screenshot of your Connected Accounts and Linked Post Settings.

  • Email our support team at support@replyrush.com with details of the issue.

📌 Pro Tip: Always make sure your post is linked in ReplyRush before it starts receiving comments to avoid missed DMs.
