Auto DM is Not Working
How to Fix Auto DM Not Sending in ReplyRush
If your Auto DM feature in ReplyRush isn’t sending messages as expected, follow the troubleshooting steps below to identify and fix the issue.
1. Check for Permission Issues
Open Sidebar → Connected Accounts.
Find your Instagram account in the list.
If you see a Permission Missing notice, click Reauthorize to refresh permissions and regenerate your Instagram token.
Grant all requested permissions when prompted by Meta or Facebook.
Important: Without the correct permissions, ReplyRush may not be able to send Auto DMs.
2. Verify Your Trigger Settings
Open your linked Post, Reel, or Story and navigate to Options.
Confirm that the correct Trigger Type is selected.
All Comments
Sends a DM to everyone who comments, subject to applicable Meta messaging rules.
Keyword Trigger
Sends a DM only when a comment contains a matching trigger keyword.
AI Trigger
Automatically detects relevant keywords in comments based on your post description and configured trigger settings.
If you use Keyword Trigger, make sure the keyword matches the comments users are posting. If the keyword doesn’t match, the automation won’t trigger.
Tip: If comments were missed because of an incorrect trigger keyword, correct the keyword and use Sendback to resend DMs to eligible users.
3. Reconnect Your Instagram Account
If your permissions are correct but Auto DM still isn’t working, try reconnecting your Instagram account.
Go to Sidebar → Connected Accounts.
Click Detach next to your Instagram account.
Reconnect your account using one of the available methods:
Instagram Connect: Connect directly through Instagram.
Facebook Connect: Connect through Facebook. This is the recommended option for a more reliable connection and permission management.
Once reconnected, verify that your automation settings are still applied.
4. Check the Safety Queue for High-Volume Posts
If your post goes viral and receives thousands of comments, DMs may be sent gradually because of ReplyRush’s configured 600 DMs per hour limit.
Here’s what happens:
ReplyRush temporarily queues additional messages after the hourly limit is reached.
The Safety Queue processes pending DMs gradually as sending capacity becomes available.
Sending resumes over subsequent hours until the queue is processed, provided the messages remain eligible for delivery and Meta allows them to be sent.
This is expected behavior designed to help manage high-volume activity and reduce the risk of account restrictions.
5. Still Not Working?
If Auto DM still isn’t sending after you’ve completed the steps above:

Pro Tip
Always make sure your post is linked in ReplyRush before it starts receiving comments. This helps reduce the chance of missed DMs.
Also, remember that Meta may apply restrictions or return API errors even when your ReplyRush settings are correct. ReplyRush cannot bypass restrictions imposed by Meta.
