Why Messages With Links Sometimes Don't Send
If a ReplyRush message containing a link isn't being delivered, it may be caused by an Instagram/Meta messaging restriction rather than an issue with ReplyRush.
Meta applies limits and restrictions to messages containing URLs, especially when many similar messages are sent within a short period.
Why do messages with links get blocked?
Sending the same or similar URL to many people can trigger Meta's anti-spam and messaging protections.
For example, a message like:
Check out our website: https://example.com
may work when testing your automation with a few users, but some messages may stop being delivered when the automation reaches a larger audience.
When Meta rejects the message, ReplyRush cannot force Instagram to deliver it.
These restrictions are controlled by Meta and apply to third-party tools using the Instagram Messaging API as well.
What should I do if my link messages are failing?
First, check whether the problem is specifically related to messages containing links.
If normal messages are being delivered but messages containing URLs are failing, you may be experiencing a Meta URL or messaging restriction.
Step 1: Check for a Meta restriction
If Meta has placed a messaging restriction on your Instagram account, you may see an error or restriction notification when trying to send messages.
In this situation, you should follow Meta's recommended steps to review and remove the restriction.
👉 See our guide: How to Remove Instagram Messaging Restrictions

Follow the steps in that guide before continuing to send large volumes of link-based messages.
Step 2: Avoid sending raw URLs
If you don't specifically need the URL to appear as text inside the message, avoid sending it like this:
Visit https://example.com now!
Instead, use a Media Template, Product Template or Button Template in ReplyRush.
Use Media, Product or Button Template
ReplyRush provides Media Template and Button Template actions that let you send a clickable button instead of placing a raw URL directly inside the message.
Media Template
Use a Media Template when you want to combine an image or media with your message and a clickable button.
For example:
Discover our latest collection
Check out our newest products and offers.
[View Collection]
The user can tap the button to visit your destination URL.
👉 Learn how to use Media Template
Choose your Message Type:
Template – use a pre-designed message flow.
Why use a template instead of a raw URL?
Using a Media Template or Button Template gives you a cleaner message and avoids placing a long URL directly into the message text.
For example, instead of:
Get started here: https://example.com/signup
You can send:
Ready to get started?
[Get Started]
This is easier for users to understand and provides a cleaner experience inside Instagram.
Important: Templates do not bypass Meta restrictions
Using a Media Template or Button Template does not guarantee delivery.
Meta still controls Instagram messaging limits, spam protection, and account restrictions.
If your Instagram account has an active messaging restriction, changing the message format may not resolve the restriction. You should first follow the steps in our Instagram Messaging Restriction guide.
How to identify the problem
Only messages containing URLs are failing
This may indicate that Meta is limiting messages containing raw URLs.
Try using a Media Template or Button Template instead.
All automated messages are failing
This may indicate a broader Instagram messaging restriction or another Meta API issue.
Check your ReplyRush error message and review:

Messages work in testing but fail at higher volume
This can happen when Meta's messaging protections are triggered as your automation sends messages to more users.
Reduce unnecessary repeated link messages and consider using templates instead of raw URLs.
Still having trouble?
If you've checked your automation and the problem continues, make sure you check the exact error returned by Instagram/Meta.
When contacting ReplyRush support, include:
Your Instagram username
The automation name
The exact error message
Whether messages without links are working
Whether you're using a raw URL, Media Template, or Button Template
This information helps us determine whether the problem is related to ReplyRush configuration or a restriction imposed by Meta.
